licensing and/or certification requirements which vary by State, but generally include specific
training requirements, a period of work as a trainee, and passing one or more examinations..."

Georgia state-registered real property appraiser applicants must:
- Be at least 18 years of age
- Be a high school graduate or the holder of a certificate of equivalency
- Successfully complete a 90-hour curriculum approved by the Appraisers Board that includes 15 hours of education in the Uniform Standards of Professional Appraisal Practice (USPAP)
- Pass the four part required Appraisal proctored school examination(s) with a score of 75% or higher on the three part series, and a 78% or higher on the USPAP portion.
- Obtain a Georgia criminal back ground report

90 Hours of Qualifying Education which consists of:
- Basic Appraisal Principles
- Basic Appraisal Procedures
- Residential Report Writing and Case Studies
- 2012-2013 15-Hour National USPAP
Each active appraiser must complete 14 Hours of Continuing Education for Each Yearly Renewal Period. Effective 2003, the Appraiser Qualifications Board (AQB) and the Georgia Real Estate Appraisers Board (GREAB) require that appraisers complete a 7-hour national USPAP course, or its equivalent, every two years.
